Prayers for Drew

We recently received the following email from Cindy Maultsby:

I wanted to write you and let you know about some very sad news we have recently received for my son Drew. Drew was diagnosed with Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy in April of this year. It is a devastating illness which attacks the muscles in his entire body and there is no cure. Most children with this disease will go into a wheelchair between the ages of 9 and 12. Most only live somewhere around 20 years before their heart gives out (as it is also a muscle). I hate to send this news but thought you would be interested. As you can imagine, we are sooo devastated over the news. We have traveled to several states to see doctors who have excellent reputations in treating MD. We are ever hopeful for a cure or a research breakthrough. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as I know you are a tight knit family.
