Irresistible Portraits: The Other Children Winner

It's official! Dr. Trish Johnson of Compassionate Care Veterinary Hospital of Charlotte judged our "Other Children" contestants - all the pets photographed during the month of August. After debating, she chose Miss Gabby, a King Charles Spaniel, and daughter of Chris and Katie Honeycutt. What proud parents they must be.. and happy too! They won a $100 gift card to PetSmart!

Irresistible Portraits: Louie & Millie

Laura brought her family's "other children" for a 30 minute session during our August pet sessions. They donated a bag of dry dog food in exchange for the session fee. Here are Laura's kind words...

Hello Karen, Buddy and wonderful IP Staff,

Just wanted to Thank you for all the time you gave to our Louie & Millie for there first pet portraits. We all had a ball! Many thanks for the time Renda gave to me helping us to select and choose print sizes. Its always a difficult decision when you love them ALL! We loved Millie's portrait on the Pet email. She is so sweet and it really shines through on how Karen captures her. And our lil prince Louie looks just like his regal self!

Fundraiser for Focused on a Cure

Last Sunday, Irresistible Portraits photographed a Bunny Portrait Fundraiser to benefit Focused on a Cure. We had short and sweet bunny sessions all afternoon and the images turned out ADORABLE! Take a look at a few of our favorites...

Best of 2009

We've put together a video of our "best of 2009." As we look through the images, we see these unique, yet perfect expressions. We see our furry best friends. We see families that have become dear to us. We wanted to take the time to say thank you to all our clients. It's an honor to meet such loyal people who understand the value of photography and the meaning in what we do from day to day.

We have a busy year planned for 2010 - promotions, fundraisers, events, and celebrations. We hope that you'll celebrate 20 years of success with us!

Unique Senior Portrait Session: Jessy Brooks

This week, we had the honor of photographing Jessy Brooks. Karen has been photographing Jessy since she was an infant, and now she's graduating from Mount Pleasant High School.

Here's a couple of our favorites from her session at the studio on Monday...











Then Tuesday, we headed to the stables where she keeps her horse, Caroline.

Of course, Renda fell in love.

Then we met Pear, a philly. She was adorable.

It's an honor to photograph people like Jessy at such a monumental time in their lives, after photographing them for so many years.

The "Other Children"

As you probably know, we held our "Other Children" promotion in April. We offered 30 minute portrait sessions in exchange for a bag of dog food. After the promotion ended, we donated the dog food to the Cabarrus County Humane Society.

We believe pets are part of the family too! They should be either in the family portrait or framed right beside it! We hear stories all the time of people that cherish the last image they have of their pets when something unexpected happens. And the others that say they regret not having those images to hang onto.

That was one of our main purposes in having this promotion... to show they are your "other children." Or for people like us, they are our only children!

Here are our favorite images from each pet portrait session. These are the images that have been sent to Dr. Bingham at South Ridge Veterinary Hospital. He will have the final Say-So on who deserves the $100 PetSmart Gift Card!

Duck Day 2009

We survived Duck Day once again! This year we challenged ourselves by photographing in the portrait garden. Let's just say Renda got her exercise on Duck Day!

Safe Kids Cabarrus Fundraiser

We had great turnout Saturday for our Safe Kids Cabarrus Fundraiser. Concord Fire and Safety checked a total of 27 car seat and EVERY ONE OF THEM WAS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY! Yes, you read that right - all 27 were wrong! Is that scary or what?!?



They checked car seats for children of all sizes and in all different types of cars. They even flagged down a few cars that drove past their check point... because the children weren't even fastened into their seats!

Special thanks to Fifth Third Bank next door for letting us use their parking lot! It worked well for the cars to pull around the circle drive!

What's a fire truck with no dalmations?!? Luke was a little more cooperative than Millie! She was more interested in the food on the grill!

We raised almost $700 for Safe Kids Cabarrus! That allows Safe Kids to help keep more children safe, with car seats and bike helmets! We had a blast and want to say thanks to everyone who participated!

Dirk, the Great Dane

Earlier this week, we photographed the Snook family. They brought both their babies - 2 legged and 4 legged! Dirk, their great dane, was their first baby and Lilly is their newest addition.

We fell in love with Dirk. He is HUGE! He greeted Millie and Luke by looking over the half door in the front room. But he didn't even have to stand on his back legs. He was tall enough to see over it!

Allen said Dirk topped out at 220 pounds, but has since been put on a diet! (We know what that's like!) But even at 200 pounds, he's full of love!

Print Competition '09

Last week at convention, Karen won a few awards!!

This image is titled "Regal Rex." The Graeber family recently brought in their entire family (including dogs) for a family portrait. Karen happened to catch Rex at this perfect position and earned a merit off of this image!



Karen captured this next image during one of our Gold Hill location session earlier this year. We titled this print "Yesterday's Child," due to this old timey clothing.

Karen won 3rd place in the children division. This image was added into the Loan Collection for PPNC and will be displayed on their website.



We are so proud of her and all her accomplishments! And we thank all of our clients for being so loyal and supportive!

Bunny Portraits '09

Graeber Family

Last week, we photographed the Graeber family portrait!



They recently had a new addition - Rex, a boxer puppy. We fell in love with their 4 legged babies - Rex and Jack. Jack is a silver lab. He looked like he could have been our Luke's twin, but with silver fur! He was beautiful.

Pets are part of the family too! You can't leave them out of your family portrait. Keep this in mind for our "Other Children" special in
April. We're offering 30 minute sessions throughout the month for portraits with your pets. At the end of the month, we'll pick our favorites from each session. Then, Dr. Bingham from South Ridge Veterinary Hospital will be our judge is choosing our "Pet of the Month." The winner will receive a gift card to PetSmart!

Don't underestimate us! We've heard "You can't handle our dogs/cats." But we can! We have plenty of patience and tricks up our sleeves!

Fun with the Kimbles!

The Kimbles are close friends to our IP family! We brainstorm all year about how we can beat last year's christmas card. And somehow, every year, we do!


As you can see, they had lots of children - two legged and four legged!

Santa's Last Stop at IP

Santa made his last stop at IP this Sunday. He came for one last visit with the children. He got some last minute wish lists and gave some advice on getting your name off the naughty list!

Luke loved Santa... and then ate his cookies when he turned his back! (Not a joke!) We think Millie had a part in it too though.



We're so glad Santa was able to fit us into his busy schedule! He's got a lot of work to do between now and Christmas Eve! Keeping up with the naughty and nice lists is a hard job to have!
