Duck Day 2009

We survived Duck Day once again! This year we challenged ourselves by photographing in the portrait garden. Let's just say Renda got her exercise on Duck Day!

Check out this video of some of our favorites from the day...

Basinger-Hall Wedding

We recently photographed Heather & Brian's big day at the Catawba Chapel in Salisbury, NC. The forecast wasn't looking very good, but the weather cleared in perfect time for us to get some amazing images of this beautiful couple. This was truly a photographer's dream - beautiful people, beautiful architecture, and beautiful weather!

Heather & Brian decided to see each other before the ceremony. It was incredible to share this special moment with them. You could see the love and appreciation for one another on their faces.... and it gave us a chance for more GREAT images!

Is this adorable or what? Their son, Jackson, was their ring bearer on their big day. He is so cute and he was excited to see his mommy in that big white dress!

Heather & Brian were such a fun couple to work with. We were so blessed to share this day with them and celebrate their love for each other.
All of Mr. & Mrs. Hall's wedding day images will be posted online 6.12.09 - 7.10.09. You will be able to access them by clicking on client images and entering hall as the password. We're looking forward to sharing the rest of their images with you! Hope you enjoyed the sneak peek.

Cabarrus Dance Academy

A few weeks ago, we spent our weekend photographing dance portraits at Cabarrus Dance Academy. This is the oldest operating dance studio in Concord, NC. This studio was formerly Pegge Lee School of Dance.

Here's a few images...

Class of '09 dancers...

Cabarrus Dance Academy will be hosting their student appreciation day at Frye's Roller Rink next Saturday, May 31st, at 5:00pm.

South Eastern Professional Photographers of America

The IP girls took a trip last weekend! Saturday morning we hopped on a bus with about 30 other professional photographers from NC. The SEPPA convention (South Eastern Professional Photographers of America) was held in Athens, Georgia from Saturday to Tuesday.

IP girls at the arches of the UGA campus.

Renda was in heaven in Athens... the home of the Bulldogs! There are about 40 bulldog statues around the city that are painted with different themes. We tried to photograph Renda with as many statues as we found!

You know IP girls like to eat good! Our bus made a stop at the Varsity - a local hamburger/hot dog joint in Athens. It was fabulous! We recommend the slaw dogs, onion rings, and....

the milkshakes... of course!

IP with attitude!
The highlight of our trip was the Sunday night party! Everyone on our bus received a SEPPA shirt and we all wore them to the party. NC definitely had the most spirit!
We volunteered to photograph the portraits at the party. The background was donated by Back 2 Back Designs and the lights were donated by Stu from Midwest Photo. Special thanks to Danny Daniels for all your help!!

Another thanks to the guys from ImageQuix and Buckeye Color Lab for hosting the event images and offering free 5x7 portraits for attendees!
We jumped in a few images as "cheerleaders." :)

Then it was our turn...
Game Faces! :)

We had to have one with our H&H Color Lab family!!
After the portraits were done, the party started with the Band of Oz. Renda enjoyed herself on stage singing, dancing, and jamming on the tamberines. I think they might have inducted her as the newest member of the band after her great performance (5 songs long).

We heard we were the "life of the party," but we're not sure if we believe them.

We spent the weekend in a beautiful city with great friends. What more could you ask for?
Thanks again to Cindy Smith for putting the NC bus trip together! We look forward to the next trip!

Carawan-Meadows Wedding

Evie Carawan and Travis Meadows tied the knot at Beaver Dam in Mooresville last Friday evening. This location had so many great opportunities for photography and of course it helped that Evie has a classic beauty that is every photographer's dream.

We had a blast with the wedding party, as you can see! The crowd was full of past and future IP brides, as well as dancers that kept the dancefloor hoppin!

Chelish Moore provided the flowers and, as always, she did an amazing job! And for all you future brides, here's an idea: Evie chose to have a dessert reception, which means lots of sweet treats! Kristin Rodgers catered the assortment of beautiful desserts. (You'll see a few in the video!)

Evie & Travis' wedding images will be available online May 22nd through June 19th. Until then... here's a sneak peek...
