A horrible car accident took the life of Jonathan Thacker last Tuesday evening. The Thacker family was on their way home from a relative's funeral, when they were hit by an 18 wheeler truck. Everyone made it except for the family's youngest son, Jonathan.
Karen had the blessing of watching these two boys grow up and photographing them over the years. We were recently reunited with the Thacker family at the Jarman-Guilliams wedding in June.
Karen was unfortunately committed to beach photography last Friday evening, during the funeral service, but Angie and I were able to attend it. I have to admit, I've never been touched in such a way.
At the age of FIVE, Jonathan wanted to know the Lord. Since then, he touched so many people's lives and told so many people about what life can be like with the Lord in it! He was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church and attended christian camps, where he wanted to someday become a counselor.
He was also a member of Kannapolis Dixie Youth. All of his teammembers wore their jerseys on Friday evening and stood at the beginning of the service as honorary pallbearers.
Jonathan will be deeply missed by so many people in the community. But as we heard in the service, don't be sorry for the family's loss. Celebrate the time you had with Jonathan and be happy for him that the Lord had bigger plans for him than Jonathan's dreams of being a pastor and a mechanic.
God Bless the Thacker family! Jonathan is in a better place!
With Love,
Jessica
